'Idli Kadai': Will Dhanush's directorial return impress the audience?

Actor Dhanush, who has carved a unique niche for himself in the South Indian film industry, is set to release his new film ‘Idli Kadai’ in theaters worldwide on October 1st. It is noteworthy that with the success of the previous films, fans and critics are waiting with great anticipation. Especially since it is releasing during the Dussehra festival season, the pre-order ticket sales are witnessing a sharp growth. This undoubtedly bodes well for the film ‘Idli Kadai’.

Dhanush doubles as director and lead actor

‘Idli Kadai’ marks Dhanush’s fourth directorial, and he is set to shine yet again as a director-actor after ‘Pa Paandi’ and ‘Raayan’. This is a rare opportunity for fans to experience Dhanush’s unique acting, comedy, and emotion all in one film.

Nithya Menen reunites with Dhanush

Nithya Menen, who played a National Award-winning role in ‘Thiruchitrambalam’, has reunited with Dhanush in ‘Idli Kadai’, and she adds a major strength to the film. The joys and sorrows of village life are emotionally expressed in Nithya Menon’s performance. Arun Vijay plays the antagonist, and the dedicated actor put in a lot of effort to deliver a solid role. Adding to Dhanush, Nithya Menen, and Arun Vijay, veteran actors Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, and Prakash Raj play crucial role to make the supporting cast more powerful.

GV Prakash Kumar returns to score music for Dhanush

GV Prakash Kumar is scoring the music for ‘Idli Kadai’, and the film marks the composer’s seventh film with Dhanush. The songs have generated great buzz for the film, while GV Prakash’s background score for the rural drama is anticipated to be the major highlight. Kiran Koushik has handled the cinematography, while the editing for the film is done by Prasanna GK. The runtime of the film is going to be a crisp one, with 2 hours and 27 minutes, and the film received a ‘U’ from CBFC.

‘Idli Kadai’ earns solid in pre-release business

‘Idli Kadai’, which was announced with the tentative title ‘D 52’, began production in September 2024, and the film was shot across several villages in Tamil Nadu. Dhanush sports multiple looks for his role as a chef, and the film is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 104 crore. The digital rights and satellite rights of ‘Idli Kadai’ are already sold, and the film earned solid numbers in the pre-release business. ‘Idli Kadai’ is releasing in theatres in Tamil and Telugu, and the film is likely to be available in more versions on OTT.
