'Idli Kadai box office collections: Dhanush’s film opens to decent numbers; Earns over Rs 10 crore on opening day

Dhanush’s latest outing ‘Idli Kadai’ has finally hit the big screens, and early box office numbers suggest a respectable start. Despite mixed reviews from audiences on release day, the film managed to cross the Rs 10 crore mark in India net collections on its opening day.

Dhanush’s directorial packed with a stunning cast

Dhanush Gets Emotional As Child Actor’s Mother Speaks At ‘Idli Kadai’ Event

An excerpt from our ETimes review for the movie reads, “Dhanush does clear the bar that he has set for himself. There are moments when the emotions work and the actors pitch in with performances that manage to elevate the simplistic way in which their characters are written. The way the romance between Murugan and Kayal (Nithya Menen) is developed also deserves mention, and feels like a new spin on the Kamal Haasan-Revathy episodes in Thevar Magan (another case of a young man with dreams of opening a chain of restaurants and engaged to a city-bred woman returning to his roots and ending up in love with a village belle).”
