'Idli Kadai' box office collection day 4: Dhanush's directorial earns weekend boost, surpasses Rs 30 crore in India

The eagerly awaited film ‘Idli Kadai’, directed and starring Dhanush, was released in theaters on October 1st (Wednesday). Set in a rural backdrop, this film had high expectations before its release. Dhanush’s fourth time behind the camera as a director has impressed the audience. The film, released in Tamil and Telugu, received a good response in theaters on the first day itself.

Solid start for ‘Idli Kadai’ at the box office

According to the box office report from Sacnilk, ‘Idli Kadai’ has collected Rs 11 crore as India’s net collection on the first day, with the Tamil version earning the most (Rs 10.35 crore). The second day (Thursday) saw a slight decline in the collection; the film collected Rs 9.75 crore on that day. On the third day, Friday, the collection dropped significantly, bringing in only Rs 5.6 crore.

Weekend boost lifts Dhanush’s film

But the collections improved slightly on the fourth day (Saturday). As fans returned to the theatres in better numbers, the day’s collections rose to Rs 6.15 crore. With this, the total collection of ‘Idli Kadai’ across India in the first 4 days is reported to be around Rs 32.50 crore. The film’s collections, which started off strong in the first two days, seem to be recovering slightly towards the end of the weekend, and the film is likely to peak further on October 5 (Sunday).

‘Idli Kadai’ – A village youngster’s dream takes center stage

The story of ‘Idli Kadai’ revolves around an ordinary village youngster who starts an ‘Idli Kadai’ to support his family. The interesting incidents and social issues surrounding the shop unfold magically. Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, and Prakash Raj have played important roles. Music composer GV Prakash has brought the film to life with his songs.
