With still months to go before ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ hits the big screens, the makers seem to be finding it hard to plug the leaks. After the film’s trailers and first looks leaking online, this time, cast member, Sir Ian McKellen may have accidentally revealed a key plot detail. The actor, who will be seen reprising his villainous role as Magneto in the upcoming film, may have let a major detail about his character slip. The 86-year-old actor, who will be back as his iconic X-Men character, raised eyebrows during a recent interview, when he appeared to hint at a large-scale event that could just set his character up to be a villain in the upcoming film.

While opening up to Jake Hamilton about playing Magneto in earlier X-Men films, McKellen recalled performing practical effects. He shared, “The first film, I remember the camera behind me, my hands raised up and as they did that two motorcars, police cars in front of me were raised up by cranes. And when I signalled, I dropped my hands, the cars dropped. These were not special effects.” While reflecting on how filmmaking has evolved, McKellen added, “Nowadays, I think these will become a little bit easier, though I did destroy New Jersey the other day.” On realising what he had said, the veteran actor quickly reacted, saying, “Oooh, I perhaps shouldn’t have said that.”
