Hrithik Roshan set to reunite with Rajinikanth in ‘Jailer 2’

'Jailer 2': Hrithik Roshan set to reunite with Rajinikanth 40 years after 'Bhagwan Dada'; Shah Rukh Khan DROPPED due to dates issue

The buzz around ‘Jailer 2’ continues to grow with every new update. After weeks of speculation about a major Bollywood star joining the film, reports now suggest that Hrithik Roshan has officially come on board for a special appearance. A sequel to the blockbuster film ‘Jailer’ starring Rajinikanth, which is itself one of the most-awaited films, becomes even more anticipated with the entry of Hrithik Roshan. His role is expected to be important to the story rather than a brief guest appearance.

Hrithik Roshan to shoot key sequences in Chennai

According to a report by Variety India, Hrithik Roshan is scheduled to shoot his portions for ‘Jailer 2’ in Chennai on June 22 and June 23. The report states that his character will enter the story at a crucial stage and help move the narrative forward alongside Rajinikanth’s character, Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The makers are also said to be preparing a completely new look for the Bollywood star, with several look tests planned before filming begins. While the details of his role remain under wraps, it is reportedly designed to leave a strong impact on the film.

Hrithik Roshan’s special reunion with Rajinikanth after nearly four decades

With the addition of Hrithik Roshan in the sequel, a past connection between Rajinikanth and him will also be revived. Rajinikanth and Hrithik had shared screen space way back in 1986 in a film titled ‘Bhagwaan Dada,’ wherein Hrithik appeared as a kid. Hrithik, who has always been a fan of Rajinikanth and has expressed his admiration for the latter on numerous occasions, will soon share screen space with the superstar again after nearly four decades.

‘Jailer 2’ continues to build a massive multi-star cast

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, ‘Jailer 2’ is all set to be one of the biggest films of 2026. Earlier reports suggested that Shah Rukh Khan could not do the film due to date issues, but it is now being said that Hrithik Roshan has come on board after talks with the makers. The film is also expected to feature a strong ensemble cast including Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi, Mithun Chakraborty, Ramya Krishnan, S J Suryah, and Yogi Babu. The fans are already buzzing with the latest report and waiting for an official confirmation from the makers. Go to Source
