‘House Of The Dragon’ Season 4 scripts completed

'House of the Dragon' Season 4 script completed; showrunner Ryan Condal shares major update FINAL chapter of fantasy epic

‘House of the Dragon’ has fans hooked on to the battles and bloodshed of season 3, but according to the latest reports, the makers are nearing the end of the saga. Showrunner Ryan Condal has revealed that the writing team has completed the scripts for the show’s fourth and final season and has begun submitting the initial drafts to HBO.Speaking on the Scriptnotes podcast, Condal shared that the creative team is now delivering the first drafts of the Season 4 scripts to the network as development continues on the final instalment of the Game of Thrones prequel. As per reports, Season 4 is expected to wrap up the story of the Targaryen civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons.During the chat, Condal also revealed that production on the final season is expected to begin in early 2027, with filming set to take place across multiple countries.

Season 4 will conclude the series

The update comes after reports previously confirmed that House of the Dragon is designed to conclude with four seasons. Although HBO took time to formally renew the fourth season, the network has now positioned it as the series’ final chapter, bringing the adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood to a close. However, with the close of this chapter, fans who have stuck with the franchise since ‘Game Of Thrones’ may just have to gear up for another heartbreaking end for House Targaryen.

‘HOTD’ showrunner on 2-year production timeline

Condal recently explained that the production schedule for House of the Dragon remains unusually demanding because of its scale and extensive visual effects work. The extensive post-production process, particularly the creation of the show’s dragon sequences and visual effects, has contributed to the two-year gaps between seasons.

‘HOTD’ Season 3 sets the stage for the finale

The upcoming final season is expected to adapt the concluding chapters of the Dance of the Dragons and bring several long-running character arcs to their conclusion.
