Honey Singh REVEALS he wears a wig: ‘I am totally bald’

Yo Yo Honey Singh REVEALS he wears a wig, as heavy medication made him bald; says, 'I am totally bald'

Yo Yo Honey Singh has made a startling personal revelation – years of heavy medication during his battle with bipolar disorder caused him to lose all his hair, and he has since been wearing a wig. The singer offered his most detailed and raw account yet of the darkest years of his life.

Honey Singh reveals he wears a wig

Before his prolonged absence from public life, Yo Yo Honey Singh was one of the biggest names in Indian pop music. But behind the success, he was fighting serious mental health challenges that eventually took a severe physical toll. During an appearance on the ABtalks podcast, he disclosed what years of treatment had done to his body. He said, “I was on heavy medication for seven years. I became 105 kilos because of it, and I lost my hair completely. This is fake hair; I am totally bald. This is a wig.”

Honey Singh talks about seven years of isolation from the world

Honey Singh also described the extent to which his condition forced him to withdraw from life entirely. After walking off stage mid-performance, he shut himself away completely. He said, “Then I called my sister and told her that something was happening to me. She said I would still have to do the show. I left midway after singing two songs. After that, I stayed inside my house for seven years. I didn’t want my fans to see me in that condition. I locked myself inside and didn’t even meet my childhood friends. There was no communication, no phone calls, no TV, no internet. People used to think the devil was talking to me.”The singer emphasised that getting clean was only the beginning of a much longer road back. “You won’t believe it, but even after I stopped doing drugs in 2014, it still took me seven to eight years to recover,” he revealed.

He is now focusing on independent singles like ‘Jawani Iraqi’ while also engaging in public advocacy initiatives.
