Honey Singh CANCELS show after dispute with organizers

Yo Yo Honey Singh CANCELS Mohali performance after security dispute with organizers - Report

Yo Yo Honey Singh is once again at the center of a controversy, this time for the last-minute cancellation of his performance at an award show in Mohali, Punjab. The incident, which occurred due to a tiff over his personal security, has left both the artist and the organizers in a financial dispute. Let’s check out what happened in detail.

The security standoff in Mohali

According to an India Today report, the dispute began when Honey Singh’s team arrived at the venue with a large security in tow, which the organizers refused to allow inside. The organizers had their own security personnel on-site, along with local police, to ensure the safety of the event. Reportedly, a source close to the matter revealed the core of the disagreement. The insider told the publication, “As per the protocols, they did not allow any other external members on the ground for anyone. However, Honey Singh was persistent in getting his own safety unit as a precautionary measure.” Despite the organizers’ attempts to reason with him, the musician’s team and the event security could not reach a compromise. The report further added that after a long discussion with the event organizers, Yo Yo left the venue and refused to perform.

The aftermath of the episode

The abrupt cancellation has resulted in a financial dispute between both parties. While neither Honey Singh nor the organizers have released an official statement, both teams are reportedly working towards a “cordial conclusion” to resolve the issue.

Honey Singh’s ongoing controversies

This latest incident comes following recent controversies for the singer. Earlier this month, he was summoned by the Punjab Women’s Commission regarding his song ‘Millionaire,’ which was criticized for its misogynistic lyrics.

Honey Singh on the work front

The singer-rapper recently collaborated with actress Shehnaaz Gill for a track in her debut production project, a Punjabi-language film titled ‘Ikk Kudi’. He also unveiled the first look of his upcoming music video, ‘Sajna’, and a new single, ‘Mashooqa’. His much-anticipated album, ’51 Glorious Days’ is also in the pipeline. Go to Source
