'He is becoming boring': When Naseeruddin Shah had dissed Shah Rukh Khan but praised Akshay Kumar

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, in a resurfaced interview, lauded Akshay Kumar for his self-made success and growing capability. However, Shah expressed that while he admires Shah Rukh Khan’s rise without a film background, he finds the actor’s performances becoming predictable and uninspired. Shah’s recent film ‘Fateh’ received mixed reviews.

Naseeruddin Shah often makes headlines for his statements about fellow actors, current affairs, and more. An old interview has resurfaced on the internet, in which Shah can be seen praising Akshay Kumar. The veteran actor had also called Shah Rukh Khan a “boring” star.

Naseeruddin Shah praises Akshay Kumar

During an old interview, when Naseeruddin Shah was asked if he watches any movies of stars like Khans, Kumars, or Devgns, he quickly replied, “No.” The veteran talent shared that he has worked with many of them, but he doesn’t make any “effort to watch them.” He added that none of the actors really impressed him. In the next statement, he praised Akshay Kumar for establishing himself without any backing.Naseeruddin Shah said, “But there is only Akshay Kumar, whom I admire a lot, because without any guidance or godfather or support, he made his own place. And now his acting shows signs of capability. After having done it for so long, he has become a good actor.”

Naseeruddin Shah calls Shah Rukh Khan a boring actor

Soon, the interviewer mentioned Shah Rukh Khan’s name and stated that he has achieved a status without any filmy background. Naseerudin Shah replied, “Yeah, and for that I have great admiration for Shah Rukh. But as an actor, he is becoming boring.”

It opened to mixed reviews from the audience as well as critics.
