‘Haal’ clears legal issues: New poster for Shane Nigam’s film OUT

Shane Nigam’s 'Haal' clears legal issues; Court approval leads to Christmas release; New poster OUT

Shane Nigam’s film ‘Haal’ is finally hitting theatres this Christmas after overcoming censorship hurdles. The High Court cleared the movie for release, overturning several proposed cuts. The poster itself highlights the legal battles, with the cast and crew now ready to present their work to audiences across multiple languages.

After being caught up in a series of controversies, Shane Nigam-starrer ‘Haal’ is finally set to reach theatres. The film, directed by Veera, will release on Christmas.Following the release permission, the makers recently unveiled a new poster carrying the line, “Finally reaching audiences with court approval.” Interestingly, the poster also features news headlines that emerged during the controversy.

Censor issues and High Court intervention

Shane Nigam’s ‘Haal’ grabbed widespread attention when the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) directed the makers to remove six portions from the film, including a scene depicting the consumption of beef biryani.Reportedly, the CBFC maintained that the film could be granted screening permission only if these cuts were implemented. The filmmakers disagreed on this and approached the High Court, challenging the censorship order. As reported by News 18, a single bench of the High Court later revoked four of the six proposed cuts. This decision was challenged through appeals which were filed by the CBFC and the Catholic Congress. Recently, the High Court dismissed these appeals. The division bench upholded the earlier single bench verdict. According to the reports, the judges watched the film in full before delivering the ruling, and members of the division bench observed that they “enjoyed the film.”

Cast, languages, and what lies ahead

Actress Sakshi Vaidya stars as the female lead opposite Shane Nigam. The cast also includes Johnny Antony, Nath, Vineeth Beepkumar, K. Madhu Pal, Sangeetha Madhavan Nair, Joy Mathew, Nishanth Sagar, Niyas Becker, Riyas Narmakala, Suresh Krishna, Ravindran, Sohan Seenulal, Manoj K.U., Unniraj, and Sreedhanya in key roles.Interestingly, ‘Haal’ is set to release in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada, alongside its Malayalam version. On the other hand, Shane Nigam’s previous successful venture was the action flick ‘RDX’ which was directed by Nahas Hidhayath.
