‘Gram Chikitsalay’ Season 2: OTT release date, cast and plot the comedy drama

'Gram Chikitsalay' Season 2: OTT release date, cast and plot of Amol Parashar and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor 's rural comedy drama

The new season of TVF’s ‘Gram Chikitsalay’ is officially set for its digital return. The series continues its story set in the fictional village of Bhathkandi. It brings back its mix of humour, social commentary, and everyday village struggles. The upcoming season is expected to expand on the narrative threads introduced earlier.

Cast, creators, and production team

The series is created by The Viral Fever, continuing its association with grounded, slice-of-life storytelling. Direction is handled by Lalitam Tiwari. Writing credits go to Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Srivastava, who shape the show’s conversational and realistic tone. The ensemble cast features Amol Parashar in the lead role. He is joined by Akash Makhija, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Vinay Pathak, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, and Garima Vikrant Singh. All principal actors are returning to reprise their roles. The new season also introduces Dinesh Lal Yadav to the ensemble, adding a fresh dynamic to the village setting. The rural-themed drama will begin streaming on June 23 on Prime Video.

Storyline and character arc of ‘Gram Chikitsalay’

The narrative resumes after the events of the previous season. It continues to follow Dr. Prabhat as he works at the Primary Health Centre in Bhathkandi. His role becomes more demanding as he deepens his connection with villagers. Over time, he finds himself balancing professional duties with emotional involvement in community life. The story highlights how his responsibilities extend beyond medical care. He is often pushed into situations that test his patience, adaptability, and ethical judgment. The evolving plot focuses on how a doctor adjusts to a system where resources are limited but expectations remain high. This season continues to explore rural healthcare challenges through a blend of humour and realism. The show reflects the gap between expectations and ground-level realities in government health systems. It also examines how cultural beliefs, misinformation, and infrastructure issues affect treatment.

‘Gram Chikitsalay’ season 1 response

The first season received praise for its authentic depiction of village life and its balanced tone. Critics highlighted its restraint in storytelling and its focus on realism. ETimes review for season one read, “‘Gram Chikitsalay’ succeeds because it stays true to its rural setting without resorting to caricature. For those familiar with life in North Indian villages, the series offers plenty of relatable moments from the camaraderie among villagers to the myths that keep them away from government health services. The local dialects and casual conversations ground the narrative, giving it a lived-in, authentic feel. Comparisons with ‘Panchayat’ are inevitable, as both explore the life of a government employee posted in a village. But this series manages to chart its own path with a sharper satirical edge and a stronger focus on public healthcare.” Go to Source
