A 10th anniversary reunion special for ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God,’ better known worldwide as ‘Goblin,’ is on the way, bringing back Gong Yoo, Lee Dong-wook, Kim Go-eun, Yoo In-na, and other main cast members for a short trip built around memories from the hit drama. The special, currently titled ‘Goblin 10th Anniversary,’ will air in the first half of this year and also serve as part of tvN’s 20th anniversary programming. The project revisits one of Korean television’s most influential fantasy romances and aims to reconnect fans with the scenes, lines, and emotions that made the series endure.

Goblin’s 10th-anniversary special brings cast reunion

The network intends to honor both the drama’s 10th anniversary and its enduring significance in Korean pop culture. The broadcaster said, “We believe ‘Goblin’ is an iconic work that has been consistently loved from the time of its airing to the present day.” It added that the special will “recall the memories of viewers” and “evoke nostalgia for this masterpiece we are reuniting with.”First broadcast in 2016, ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’ became a major ratings and awards success. It made history as the first cable drama at the time to surpass 20 percent viewership ratings during its original run. That record helped cement its place as more than a commercial hit. The show became a defining drama of its era, praised not only for its love story and fantasy world but also for its emotional tone, dialogue, and visual style.The drama’s awards run strengthened that reputation. It collected major honors, including the 2017 Baeksang Arts Awards, the Korea Cable TV Awards, and the Korea Drama Awards.
