In a bittersweet turn of events, Farhan Akhtar’s latest venture, ‘120 Bahadur’, garnered rave reviews for its captivating storyline and stunning cinematography, but stumbled at the box office. Honey Irani, his mother and a seasoned writer, comforted him through this tough phase, reminding him that in the realm of cinema, both triumph and defeat are par for the course.

Farhan Akhtar’s ‘120 Bahadur’ failed at the box office. The movie received praise from the critics for its strong plot and technicalities; however, it didn’t pull the audience to the theaters. And recently, the actor-director’s mother, Honey Irani, shared how the movie’s failure impacted her son and how he is dealing with it.

Talking about ‘120 Bahadur’, Farhan’s mother said, “Of course, it is your personal loss because you have worked so hard on it, and so many people are involved with the film, and so much money is involved. And when that film doesn’t work, it pains a lot.”She went on to share, “It will take Farhan time to get over it, and to get over it, you have to move on to the next thing. But it will take time.”

Honey Irani reveals the advice she has given to her children

Honey Irani, who is also a veteran writer, stated that she has always told their children not to take success to their heads and failures to their hearts. She expressed that such things are part and parcel of life. She added that sometimes a movie that is not expected to work does well, while there are times when even good films don’t work. Citing an example, she said, “‘Kaagaz Ke Phool’ was a masterpiece, but it did not work. These things happen in life. One has to analyze it.”

Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai, the film starred Farhan Akhtar as Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, the Param Vir Chakra honoree, who led the Ahir Company of the Indian Army with bravery.The movie was released in theaters on November 21, 2025.
