Emraan says he loved ‘Animal’, lauds Vanga’s convinction as a director

Emraan Hashmi says he loved Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal', praises Sandeep Reddy Vanga's convinction: 'Nobody takes shots that way'

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ left people shocked and it was a topic of discussion for the longest time. While the movie crossed Rs 500 crore at the box office, it also received flak and was accused of being misogynistic. The Ranbir Kapoor, Triptii Dimri starrer was loved by many and hated by many. But now, Emraan Hashmi who is getting a lot of love for his cameo in ‘The Ba***ds Of Bollywood’ has revealed his reaction on the movie. He said during a chat with Galatta Plus, “If you see #Animal film, people might have a divided opinion but I loved the film and you can see the director’s conviction. As a director he went out there and made the film he wanted to be made. He went all in and made the film he wanted, it’s completely uncorrupted. No one takes shots that way.”Further, he added, “I saw the first scene of that film, I’m like, no one takes shots that way, he has not even cut over the shoulder for that first scene. And I was like, that’s so new, but there’s the confidence of a director, because the scene holds, and he pulled this off in a two-shot, and it’s a long scene, it’s like a 9-10 minute scene.”Emraan added further, “And someone told me, there are not too many wide shots in Animal. I think that’s what he said, if I find it, it’s again audaciously different.” The actor was last seen in ‘They Call Me OG’ with Pawan Kalyan.
