Elnaaz says she is still an outsider in Bollywood

Elnaaz Norouzi says she is still an outsider in Bollywood; she admits LOSING roles often

Elnaaz Norouzi has honestly spoken about her place in Bollywood. In a recent interview she said she is still an outsider and things are not easy for her. She shared that finding space in the industry takes time and effort. In an interview with News 18 Elnaaz said, “I’m still an outsider. It was difficult to find my space, and I’m still carving it out. It’s not easy, but I’m loving it. It’s a challenge, and I love challenges, so it’s okay.”She made it clear that she does not pretend everything is smooth. She accepts the struggle and chooses to grow through it. She believes the grind teaches her something every day.

Losing roles to star kids happens a lot

When asked if she loses roles to star kids or popular names, Elnaaz did not hesitate at all. She answered in a very simple way. Elnaaz said, “Yeah. All the time.”The ‘Sacred Games’ star explained that many films are made with certain actors already in mind. “Of course, some projects are built from the ground up for actors who already have a certain stature in the industry. That’s very obvious and out there.”Elnaaz said she understands how the system works and does not get shocked by it anymore. For her, knowing the truth helps her stay calm and focused.

Acting matters more than anything else

The ‘Devil’ actress said she only takes things personally when acting is involved. If a role is decided fairly and she still does not get it, she looks within herself. She said, “For me, if I audition for something fairly, where everyone has a chance and the best actor gets it, then if I don’t, I reflect on where I could improve in my craft.”Elnaaz added, “But if it’s not about acting, I don’t take it personally.” Talking about her work, she said, “When it comes to my work, I always aim to do my best, like I did with Tehran .”She also explained how she got the role. “I was auditioned like many, many other girls who were auditioned, worldwide, in fact, for Tehan. And I got the job because probably I fit the best, my acting was great. So for me, that metric is important.”The actress shared how she worked on herself to stay strong in the industry. She said she did not want any weakness to stop her.The talented actress said, “If I’m lacking at something else, the reason why I learned how to read and write at Hindi,. I learnt to dance. I didn’t wanna lack on those.”She also spoke about choosing scenes carefully, especially intimate ones. Talking about on-screen intimacy, she said, “Even something like a kissing or intimate scene has to serve a purpose. Is it adding anything to the story at that moment? Is it necessary? Does it change something in the narrative?”

About intimate scene in ‘Sacred Games’

In the same interview she revealed something personal about ‘Sacred Games Season 2’. “On Sacred Games Season 2, there was an intimate scene with Nawazuddin Siddiqui that was written in the script. I was almost about to say no to the show because I didn’t want to do that scene.”For the unversed, Elnaaz Norouzi, the Iranian-German actress working mainly in Bollywood.
