Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat earns Rs 80 lakh in 4th weekend

Harshvardhan Rane’s ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ fails to cross Rs 1 crore mark in 4th weekend

Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ has surprised at the box office, crossing Rs 78 crore despite a slow fourth weekend. The romantic thriller’s success, especially against bigger releases, has opened doors for Rane, with offers for ‘Force 3’ and a potential solo lead film. This mid-budget drama’s performance is a significant achievement.

Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat may have delivered one of the most surprising box-office runs of the year, but the film’s momentum has now clearly slowed down. Entering its fourth weekend, the romantic thriller struggled to maintain its earlier pace and failed to cross the Rs 1 crore mark in its latest three-day frame. The film opened the fourth weekend on a weak note, earning just Rs 20 lakh on Friday while Saturday showed a slight improvement with Rs 25 lakh collection and Sunday recording Rs 35 lakh collection taking the collection to Rs 80 lakh. Despite the underwhelming fourth weekend, the film’s overall box-office run remains impressive. As of Day 27, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat stands at a strong Rs 78.10 crore, a figure driven largely by its powerful first two weeks and solid third-week hold. The film opened with an excellent Rs 55.15 crore in Week 1, in Week 2 it collected Rs 16.30 crore and in Week 3 the film managed to earn Rs 5.85 crore. Post the success of Sanam Teri Kasam’s re- release and now with the stellar performance of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, many doors have opened for Harshvardhan Rane. He is currently being offered Rs 15 crore for Force 3 with John Abraham where he will be playing parallel lead while being in talks with Ektaa R Kapoor for a solo lead film around a gangster. Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has already exceeded expectations, it had clashed with Ayushmann KHurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma which was a much bigger film not only budget wise but also stature wise as it was part of horror-comedy universe,But for mid-budget romantic drama with limited pre-release buzz, crossing Rs 75 crore and inching toward the Rs 80 crore mark is a major achievement.
