‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ crosses Rs 70 crore on India

'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat' box office collection day 16: The Harshvardhan Rane starrer touches Rs 70 crore, has an edge over 'Baahubali: The Epic' on Wednesday

Who would have predicted that ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, would emerge as the dark horse of the season? Despite locking horns at Diwali with a film from the popular horror-comedy universe, it managed to carve out its own space. Released in far fewer screens than the ‘Thamma’ starring Ayushmann Khurrana, this modestly-anticipated romantic drama has now nudged closer to the Rs 70 crore nett mark in India, while already crossing the Rs 100 crore milestone worldwide. After racking up roughly Rs 55 crore in its first week, it collected around Rs 2.35 crore on its second Friday, Rs 3.15 crore on its second Saturday and Rs 3.75 crore on its second Sunday. On Day 14 it earned approximately Rs 1.65 crore; Day 15 — aided by discounted ticket prices — saw a small bounce to about Rs 2.25 crore; on Wednesday of the second week it added roughly Rs 2 crore. It had an edge over ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ on Wednesday and it did somewhere in the Rs 1.5 crore range on Wednesday. Meanwhile, ‘Thamma’ also made Rs 2 crore on Wednesday which was its day 16. Thus, the total collection of the Harshvardhan Rane starrer is now Rs 70.30 crore nett.

‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ Becomes Box Office Hit – But Gets Criticized For Toxicity

The film reportedly was made on a budget of Rs 25 crore. By Day 8 it had already become the 4th highest-grossing romantic film of 2025 in India. With this budget, as it has now crossed Rs 70 crore mark, the film has already become a huge hit when it comes to the return on investment. Worldwide, the makers have announced it crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. It looks like it’s a good time for romantic movies this year and the success of ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ is further a testament to it.
