Early dinner to Yoga: What keeps Kareena fit and glowing at 45

From early dinner to more vegetarian diet, khichdi with ghee and 'surya namaskars': Here's what makes Kareena Kapoor Khan fit and glowing at 45

Kareena Kapoor Khan has been in the industry for around 25 years now. The actress known for a long list of movies like ‘Omkara’, ‘Jab We Met’, ‘Chameli’ and many more isn’t just loved for her characters onscreen, but Kareena’s charm reflects even off screen. While her candid comments and expressions in interviews become memes on the internet, she makes heads turn every time she makes an appearance anywhere. Kareena is quite an inspiration to be super fit and glowing at the age of 45. Here are some secrets that Kareena stands by and that we must all take notes from.

Early dinner and and swearing by khichdi with ghee

Kareena prefers to have an early dinner and going to bed at around 9 30 pm. Thus, she often avoids going to the parties. She had once said, “My friends know not to expect me at parties. And they respect that. They know I’ll be watching Schitt’s Creek on low volume!” Kareena has largely been working with dietician Rujuta Diwekar and a while ago at the launch of her book, Kareena reveals that she needs her khichdi every 2-3 days or else she cannot sleep at night. “My comfort food is khichdi and if I don’t have it for 2-3 days, I start craving it. I message her if there isn’t khichdi in the diet, I can’t sleep in the night,” laughed Kareena. Earlier in an interview with The Lallantop, Rujuta had revealed her diet and said, “Kareena Kapoor kya khati hai yeh toh meri pehli book ka contract hi wohi mila hai. 2007 se we met aur tab se same hi khati hai. She eats dry fruits like almonds, raisins or figs as soon as she wakes up; paratha or poha for breakfast; dal and rice for lunch; cheese toast (sometimes) or mango/mango milkshake (seasonal) for evening snack; and khichdi with ghee/pulao for dinner.” She added, “She mostly eats khichdi with ghee for 4-5 days for dinner.”

Kareena believes her skin, body changes when she’s vegetarian

At the same book launch event, the actress made a major revelation that her body and skin completely changed when she was pure vegetarian and she loves following that. Kareena spoke about Rujuta and said, “She is pro-vegetarian and when we work together, I am pure vegetarian. My body and face transformed during that time, so I have had experiences with that and with her. My relationship with food is easy and simple in the last 10-15 years. I just go back to the same food and I am happy with it. I don’t want to experiment with it, it is comforting and makes me feel happy.”

Suryanamaskars over botox

Kareena has always been a believer in ageing naturally and not procedures like botox and fillers. She had said she prefers yoga, excercising and overall well being. She revealed, “Strength training, walking a little, doing Surya namaskars, and doing my little works on my own rather than skin treatment and Botox.”

Home cooked meals

Kareena revealed that while she’s eaten food from all over the world, it’s home-cooked food which she enjoys the most. “I have eaten all of that but I don’t feel good about it. When I am at home and eat simple meals, I don’t care what it is but I feel like a zillion bucks. There is nothing like a home-cooked meal after a hard day. Saif and I have started cooking, we enjoy it.

Taking inspiration from Sharmila Tagore’s diet

Kareena has also taken a major inspiration from her mother-in-law, the gorgeous Sharmila Tagore’s diet. She had said, “She eats toori and lauki everyday. Simple ghar ka khana.” Go to Source
