'Drishyam 3' OTT release date, plot, cast, box office prediction: All about Mohanlal’s Georgekutty return

‘Drishyam 3’ marks the much-awaited return of Mohanlal as Georgekutty which is one of Malayalam cinema’s most iconic characters.Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the suspense thriller is set to release in theatres on May 21.The film continues the gripping story of Georgekutty, whose sharp mind and relentless determination made the first two installments landmark successes. This time Georgekutty seems to be haunted by his past and Veena Nandakumar’s character adds a new narrative to the third part. Along with Malayalam, the movie will also be released in Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada dubbed versions.

Advance bookings race towards Rs 20 crore

According to Sacnilk, the film has generated extraordinary momentum ahead of release. Worldwide advance bookings are estimated at around Rs 19 crore gross and continue to climb rapidly. Nearly Rs 9 crore gross is said to have come from India alone.Kerala has led the domestic pre-sales, with advance bookings estimated at approximately Rs 5.50 crore gross.Trade analysts expect worldwide pre-sales to cross Rs 25 crore gross before the first show begins.

Opening day could cross Rs 35 crore worldwide

The overseas response has been equally strong. Markets across the Gulf, North America, the United Kingdom, and Australia are reportedly witnessing excellent booking trends. If the current pace continues, ‘Drishyam 3’ could open to more than Rs 35 crore gross worldwide.

Familiar faces reunite in the third chapter of ‘Drishyam 3’

Alongside Mohanlal, the film features Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Murali Gopy, Siddique, Asha Sharath, Santhi Mayadevi, and Veena Nandakumar.The story is expected to revisit those unresolved threads in the previous installments and this time Mohanlal’s Georgekutty and family is expected to face a much bigger threat.

OTT release details for ‘Drishyam 3’

As reported by Filmibeat, the film is expected to stream on Amazon Prime Video after completing its theatrical run. The official digital premiere date has not yet been announced.
