‘Disclosure Day’ cast surprises Steven Spielberg with tribute

'Disclosure Day': Emily Blunt, Colman Domingo, and Josh O'Connor pay heartmelting tribute to Steven Spiellerg

The cast of ‘Disclosure Day’ found the sweetest way to show their appreciation for director Steven Spielberg during a recent press event for the film. Stars Josh O’Connor, Emily Blunt, and Colman Domingo each turned up wearing throwback tee-shirts, with everyone representing a different beloved Spielberg movie, turning what could have been a routine press event into a memorable moment that quickly captured attention online.According to USA Today, O’Connor went with ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’ from 1989, Blunt rocked a ‘Jaws’ tee from the 1975 shark thriller, and Domingo opted for ‘Jurassic Park’ from 1993. Between the three of them, they managed to cover four decades of some of cinema’s most iconic moments. The gesture clearly landed, with Spielberg himself so delighted by the tribute that he pulled out his camera to capture the moment.

Steven Spielberg returns with ‘Disclosure Day’

‘Disclosure Day’ marks Spielberg’s long-awaited return to filmmaking, his first project since the critically acclaimed ‘The Fabelmans’ in 2022. The new film is a sci-fi thriller, a genre the director knows well, having spent decades delivering some of the most beloved science fiction films ever made. With a cast that includes O’Connor, Blunt, and Domingo, three of the most in-demand actors working today, expectations for the project are already running high. The film is set to hit theatres nationwide on June 12, arriving just as the summer movie season officially kicks into gear. It joins a packed lineup of anticipated releases this June, including ‘Scary Movie 6’, ‘Masters of the Universe’, ‘Power Ballad’, ‘Toy Story 5,’ and ‘Supergirl’, making it one of the most competitive summer seasons in recent memory.

A summer season full of big releases

June should be one of the busiest months at the box office in recent years. ‘Toy Story 5′ is anticipated to bring in a large family crowd, and ‘Supergirl’ will aim to make a splash in the superhero genre. Joining the lineup are ‘Masters of the Universe’ and ‘Scary Movie 6’, which should have something for just about every kind of movie-goer.Spielberg, however, sees ‘Disclosure Day’ as more than just another summer release. The director, at 78, is one of the most revered directors in film history, and his return to science fiction, which has been a large part of his career since his ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ and ‘E.T.’, is being greeted with a lot of enthusiasm by both the fans and critics. The loving homage that followed is an indicator of the reverence that prevailed on set, and the film’s influence and legacy, more than 50 years after his passing, are still felt.
