Amidst the ongoing debate about 8-hour work shifts in Bollywood, actress Deepika Padukone and filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan have reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram.For the unversed, the actress marked her debut with the Khan’s film ‘Om Shanti Om’. However, a new Instagram activity has sparked rumours of a rift between the two.

According to the News18 report, it is not clear when Farah and Deepika unfollowed each other on Instagram, but fans noted that the director also unfollowed Deepika’s husband, Ranveer Singh. However, the hunk still follows the director.Considering that Deepika made her debut with the Farah directorial ‘Om Shanti Om’ and went on to work with her in ‘Happy New Year’, netizens are speculating the possibility of a rift between the two.

Farah Khan takes a dig at Deepika Padukone’s 8-hour shift demands

Apparently, the filmmaker allegedly took indirect digs at Deepika Padukone’s demands on sets.In her YouTube vlogs, her cook Dilip asked Farah when Deepika Padukone will appear on their show. To which the filmmaker replied, “Jiss din tu gaon jaayega na us din aayegi (the day when you go to your village).”Farah further commented, “Deepika Padukone ab sirf 8 ghanta shoot karti hai, usko show pe aane ka time nahi hai (Deepika Padukone now shoots only for 8 hours; she doesn’t have time to come to our show).”

Deepika Padukone’s exit from ‘Kalki 2’ and ‘Spirit’

Rumours of Deepika demanding an 8-hour shift began doing the rounds after her sudden exit from two big-ticket films. Recently, the makers of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ announced that the actress is no longer part of the film. A few months prior to that announcement, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga took to his handle to announce that ‘Spirit’, starring Prabhas, will now star Triptii Dimri as the leading lady. Amidst chatter about her exit, various news reports alleged that the actress demanded an 8-hour shift, a hike in her fees, and profit-sharing in the movie. However, the same has not been confirmed.
