Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ starring with an ensemble cast comprising of Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjum Rampal and others released in cinemas on Friday, December 5. The film had high expectations and the day 1 numbers surpassed them. ‘Dhurandhar’ made a whopping Rs 28 crore on day 1, thus, becoming the biggest opener ever for Ranveer Singh, beating ‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Simmba’. Dhurandhar Movie ReviewAs far as Ranveer’s post pandemic movies are concerned, ’83’ had made Rs 12 crore on the opening day while ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ made Rs 11.1 crore on day 1. Meanwhile, the film saw some growth on day 2. It made Rs 32 crore Saturday. Now on day 3, which is Sunday, as per early estimates is Rs 39.50 crore. The total collection, so far, according to Sacnilk, now stands at Rs 99.50 crore. Unfortunaltely, the film has missed the Rs 100 crore mark by a hair. This is just the earliy estimate estimate and if the final numbers come by Monday morning, it may touch that mark. In any case, the fact that the film has almost touched Rs 100 crore in a span of three days is commendable.
While the weekend numbers are decent, the real test will begin from Monday onwards, if the film is able to keep its pace steady. Meanwhile, ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ which is also running in theatres well, saw growth on Saturday, despite the release of ‘Dhurandhar’. The film made Rs 5.7 crore on Saturday, which was its day 9 after making Rs 3.75 crore on Friday when ‘Dhurandhar’ released.
