‘Dhurandhar’ crosses Rs 50 crore mark on Day 2

'Dhurandhar' box office collection Day 2: Ranveer Singh's spy actioner shows good growth on Saturday; crosses Rs 50 crore mark

Ranveer Singh’s high-octane spy thriller ‘Dhurandhar’, directed by Aditya Dhar, is off to a powerful start at the box office, showing good growth and impressive momentum as it powers through its debut weekend.After delivering a solid opening day collection, earning an estimated Rs 27 crore India net, ‘Dhurandhar’ saw its collections grow further on Saturday. According to early estimates on Sacnilk, the film reportedly earned around Rs 31 crore India net on Day 2 across all languages. With this, the film has officially shot past the Rs 50 crore mark, and earned an estimated two-day total of Rs 58 crore net. This meets the early box office predictions that indicated a two-day total ranging between Rs 57–59 crore net.

Strong growth on Day 2

As per the box office report and early trends, the film’s opening collection indicated large-scale excitement for this action spectacle. Coupled with good reviews and great word-of-mouth, Saturday’s box office boost in collections only seemed to strengthen its spot at the ticket windows. As per the footfalls recorded, the morning shows remained modest with 17.26% occupancy, with the numbers growing through the day, and recording 42.65% occupancy in the afternoon and peaking at during the night shows with a 63.16% occupancy rate. Overall, the Hindi occupancy for Saturday stood at 39.63%.Multiplexes and single screens reported significant growth, indicating the film’s mass appeal among both urban and mass-market audiences.

Worldwide gross collections

As per Sacnilk, the film’s gross domestic total at the box office currently stands at an estimated Rs 69.75 crore by the end of Saturday. Overseas, ‘Dhurandhar’ earned an estimated Rs 7.6 crore, pushing its worldwide total to approximately Rs 77.35 crore. If the film can keep up its pace, it could already be on its way toward a Rs 100 crore worldwide weekend.

Rs 100 crore weekend ahead

As per early predictions, the film was tracking a Rs 30–32 crore net collection on Day 2. Following the strong Saturday performance, the film is now tracking a Rs 90 crore net opening weekend. If the film can keep up its pace at the box office, it could just emerge as one of Ranveer’s biggest commercial successes to date.

Ranveer’s Top 10 highest grossers

With its current pace, ‘Dhurandhar’ is all set to break into Singh’s list of top 10 highest-grossing films of all time. His 2016 romantic drama ‘Befikre’, currently holds the 10th spot with a lifetime net total of Rs 60.23 crore. Go to Source
