‘Dhurandhar’ creates HISTORY with biggest 2nd weekend, beats ‘Pushpa 2’

'Dhurandhar' creates HISTORY by scoring the highest second weekend number, the Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna starrer beats the second weekend collection of 'Pushpa 2; crosses Rs 350 crore

Aditya Dhar’s directorial ‘Dhurandhar’ is leaving everyone spellbound with its box office numbers. While the advance bookings of the film were good, there were a lot of mixed reviews for the film on its opening day. Many had also ruled it out, however, it has just grown and how in the past one week. If the weekday numbers of the film were not enough, the second weekend numbers are historic and the film has broken several records. The film has recorded the highest second weekend, beating ‘Pushpa 2’. The Allu Arjun starrer had made Rs 54 crore net in India on its second Sunday while ‘Dhurandhar’ has beaten it and now made Rs 58 crore according to Sacnilk. After ten days in theatres, ‘Dhurandhar’ has collected Rs 351.75 net, making it one of the fastest Hindi films to reach this mark. The steady rise in numbers reflects strong audience approval, powerful word of mouth, and high repeat viewing, something rarely seen at this level in the second week. The film has also recorded the highest-ever second Sunday and the biggest second weekend for a Hindi release, underlining its extraordinary box office run. It made Rs 53 crore on second Saturday which is day 9 and Rs 58 crore on second Sunday. The total collection of the second weekend is Rs 111 crore which is huge. The film should soon be entering Rs 500 crore club with this pace. It has the caliber to even work during the Christmas and New Year holiday. Though ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday is set to release on December 25, along with ‘Ikkis’ starring Agastya Nanda. This is also Dharmendra’s last film. If there’s positive word of mouth for both these releases, it may serve competition to ‘Dhurandhar’, or else, the Ranveer Singh starrer will continue to dominate till the end of the year. ‘Dhurandhar’ also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan. The second part of the film is set to release in March 2026.
