‘Dhurandhar 2’ action scene breakdown, Aejaz Gulab reveals BTS details

Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh plan new big project after Dhurandhar success buzz

Action director Aejaz Gulab recently shared insights into a gripping scene from ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, where a powerful explosion causes the ground to cave in, forming a massive crater mid-action. The sequence stands out for its intensity and realism, showcasing the scale and ambition of the film’s action design.Speaking about the execution with Digital Commentary, Gulab explained, “The biggest challenge was executing a real fall with a real actor.” The scene required the performer to crash through a table as the floor gave way beneath him. To maintain authenticity, the team chose to shoot the moment practically rather than relying entirely on visual effects.

Despite the dangerous appearance, safety remained a top priority. Both the actor and the table were securely rigged to control the fall and minimise risk. The setup ensured that the impact looked convincing on screen while protecting the performer from harm, highlighting the precision behind such sequences. While the fall and initial impact were captured live on set, the final crater effect was enhanced digitally. “The push, fall, and crash were shot practically,” Gulab shared, adding that CGI was used to refine the visual impact. This combination allowed the team to achieve a seamless mix of realism and cinematic scale. The sequence is a strong example of how complex action scenes are carefully choreographed. What appears chaotic on screen is actually the result of detailed planning, technical expertise, and coordination between departments to ensure both safety and spectacle.
