Designer SLAMS people for TROLLING Aishwarya and Salman

‘Aishwarya Rai is a global name, Salman Khan is a kind soul’: Celebrity designer SLAMS people for TROLLING them over their ‘weight’

Celebrity costume designer Ashley Rebello, who has worked closely with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan for years, has spoken openly about the harsh trolling both actors face. After spending years dressing two of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Ashley has seen first-hand how harsh the spotlight can be. From comments on their outfits to endless chatter about their weight, he believes the criticism has gone too far.

Ashley Rebello responds to criticism about Aishwarya Rai’s outfits

In a recent conversation with Galatta India, he discussed how unfair online criticism can be, especially around an actor’s clothes, looks and weight. When speaking about the trolling Aishwarya receives for her styling choices, he immediately defended her. He explained, “Aishwarya Rai is a global name, I am sure she knows what she’s doing and wearing. She has a great team along with her. There are international people, they know, their reputation is on the line too. If she’s with a brand and going to Cannes, they are so worried about what she’s wearing and whether she is wearing it right.”

Ashley Rebello points out unfair weight-based trolling

Ashley then addressed the constant comments about Aishwarya’s weight, calling out how cruel and pointless such remarks can be. He said, “It’s very wrong to just target somebody because you have put in weight. It’s difficult to lose weight. I have been trying for the longest time, I don’t seem to even lose an inch. She has had a baby, give her a break. Come one! Maybe, she is happy in her skin. Who are we to decide?”

He remembers working with Aishwarya over decades

Ashley also recalled his long journey of working with Aishwarya across films, ads and even during her beauty pageant days. He shared, “Just because she has been a Miss World and an actress, it doesn’t mean that she has to have a 26 inch waist. That’s what is in our mind. I always tell people, ‘Wear what suits you and do what your heart says’. In her head, if she thinks that’s right, then I think that’s great. I love her. She is lovely. She is one of the nicest people I have worked with. I have done movies and ads with her. She’s been very nice. I did work with her during Miss World, gave her a lot of sarees. I did her Miss Asia outfit. I think she is one of the nicest people to work with.”

Ashley Rebello shares insights about Salman Khan’s calm work style

Ashley then spoke about Salman Khan, who also faces trolling over his weight and appearance. He emphasised that Salman has never deserved such comments. Talking about their long professional relationship, he said, “I have done many movies with him, I have worked with him for 14 years. Our first film was Wanted. He is a wonderful person to work with, because he just likes his comfort and to be easygoing. If you give him that, then he is most happy.” Ashley further said that Salman is a kind soul, and explained that he had become like family to Salman’s family. He added that such a bond was rare in the industry, as people often became friends with actors but hardly ever became family to them. Go to Source
