‘De De Pyaar De 2’ box office journey

Despite the recent slowdown, the film had opened well with an estimated Rs 8.75 crore on day one. The first weekend brought strong numbers too, with Saturday earning Rs 12.25 crore and Sunday rising further to Rs 13.75 crore. Thanks to this push, the film ended its first week with Rs 51.1 crore. ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ story

The film picks up from where the first film ended but brings new layers to keep the humour fresh. Ashish, now 52 and living in London as an investor, remains deeply in love with the 28-year-old Ayesha. This time, he plans to meet her family, a move that becomes the central conflict of the story. With a major age gap between the couple, several awkward and funny moments shape the story. Ashish tries his best to impress Ayesha’s family while also managing expectations from his own side, creating a mix of warm, relatable and comic situations. The humorous banter between Ashish and Rajji adds more fun to the narrative, keeping the tone close to the spirit of the original ‘De De Pyaar De’.

‘De De Pyaar De 2’ cast

The film is directed by Anshul Sharma and written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain. It stars Ajay Devgn as Ashish, Rakul Preet Singh as Ayesha, and R Madhavan as Rajji. The supporting cast includes Gautami Kapoor, Jaaved Jaaferi, Meezaan Jafri, Ishita Dutta and Janki Bodiwala.

‘De De Pyaar De 2’ review

The Times of India rated the film 3/5 stars. The review reads,“Ajay Devgn delivers a self-aware and effortlessly cool performance. He embraces the jokes about his age, turning them into a source of humour and humility. Even when called buddha or uncle repeatedly, Devgn wears it like a badge of honour, reminding the audience why he still commands screen presence. Rakul Preet Singh brings energy and confidence, complementing Devgn’s understated charm. However, their spark is dimmer this time, perhaps because the writing doesn’t give their relationship enough emotional depth.” Go to Source
