'Dashavatar' box office collections day 6: Marathi thriller holds steady; nears Rs 10 cr mark

Subodh Khanolkar’s ‘Dashavatar’ continues to perform steadily at the box office in its opening week. Reportedly, on Day 6, the Marathi thriller collected an estimated Rs 1.35 Cr, taking its India net total to around Rs 8.15 Cr.According to the Sacnilk website, the film is now inching closer to the Rs 10 Cr milestone which is huge for a Marathi film that came with less hype.

Consistent weekday strength for ‘Dashavatar’

After a solid start with Rs 60 lakhs on Day 1, ‘Dashavatar’ picked up over the weekend by earning Rs 1.4 Cr on Saturday and a strong Rs 2.4 Cr on Sunday. Though Monday collections dipped to Rs 1.1 Cr, the film managed to hold steady through Tuesday and Wednesday with Rs 1.3 Cr and Rs 1.35 Cr respectively. The occupancy on Wednesday stood at 29.31%, with night shows reporting the highest turnout at nearly 49%.

Audiences have connected with the film’s unique blend of suspense and tradition. Veteran actor Dilip Prabhavalkar shines as Babuli Mestri, a Dashavatari folk theatre performer from Konkan striving to preserve his art form. The ensemble cast includes Mahesh Manjrekar, Siddharth Menon, and Priyadarshini Indalkar. The magnificent blend of mystery and drama along with the performances are said to be the main highlights of this Marathi thriller movie. The trailer for ‘Dashavatar’ had received good responses from the audiences.
