Story and cast of Mrunal Thakur starrer

‘Dacoit’ follows a murder convict who escapes prison with one mission — to exact revenge on his former girlfriend. What follows is an unexpected chain of events that blurs the lines between right and wrong. Our exclusive ETimes review for the film reads, “For a love story, the music by Bheems Ceciroleo is largely forgettable and fails to add any real emotional depth to the narrative. Adivi Sesh, who is also said to have contributed to the writing, is sincere in his performance. However, the character itself is riddled with inconsistencies, burdened with unnecessary style and theatrics that don’t really add value. Mrunal Thakur delivers a strong performance despite the limitations of her role. Anurag Kashyap, as the spiritually quirky cop, comes across more like an unintentionally funny caricature than someone who adds genuine impact. Prakash Raj, too, doesn’t have much new to offer. The film packs in several twists, and a few of them, including the climax, are genuinely shocking. On paper, these moments have real impact, but they needed far tighter writing to truly land. There’s a clear attempt to tap into the current wave of stylised, massy, alpha-male driven action cinema that’s dominating the space.”Directed by debutant Shaneil Deo, the film stars Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur, Prakash Raj, and Anurag Kashyap in key roles.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and the data in this article are compiled from public and industry sources.
