D4vd CANCELS US tour amid homicide investigations

D4vd CANCELS US tour: Singer unable to travel amid homicide investigations; cops probe death of teen found decomposed in car

Rising musician D4vd has cancelled tour dates as Los Angeles police continue to investigate the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, whose dismembered body was found in a car registered to him.TMZ reports that the 23-year-old artist pulled out of his San Francisco and Los Angeles shows scheduled for this weekend. He had previously cancelled his performance in Seattle after the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the remains in his car as that of the 15-year-old missing girl. The singer still has international dates lined up for October and November, but sources told the portal that it is “very unlikely” he will be able to travel overseas while the homicide investigation is ongoing.

Investigation Details

According to Forbes, the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office described Rivas’ body as “severely decomposed” and confirmed she had been dead for “an extended period of time” before being found in the car earlier this month. Her cause of death remains “deferred.”One detail drawing come to light in the case is the matching ‘Shhh…’ tattoo that both Rivas and D4vd had inked on their fingers. The similarity has fueled questions about the nature of their relationship, particularly after Rivas’ mother told TMZ her daughter had a boyfriend named David and claimed that she had been missing for more than a year. Photos and footage doing the rounds online, show Rivas and D4vd together in the past posts on social media.

Fallout for D4vd

In the wake of the investigation, D4vd’s record label has paused the release of the deluxe version of Withered and halted promotional activities. His name was also quietly removed from an upcoming Grammy Museum event, where he was set to discuss his album. Kali Uchis also announced that shhe is pulling her song with D4vd following the latest developments in the case.

Investigation update

On Wednesday, authorities searched a Los Angeles home linked to D4vd before his tour began. According to reports, investigators collected hair samples and looked for traces of blood inside the property. Several items were also collected from the house.

Family’s response

Celeste Rivas’ relatives have asked for privacy amidst the investigations. The family reportedly started a GoFundMe for her funeral expences. She was described as a “beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend” and the family said they are “heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss.”At present, police have not named any suspects and have not revealed who was last seen driving the car before it was abandoned in the Hollywood Hills.
