‘Coolie’ crosses Rs 270 crore mark in India

'Coolie' Box Office collection day 15: Rajinikanth's gangster drama records its LOWEST so far; crosses Rs 270 crore mark in India

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Coolie’ featuring superstar Rajinikanth was released on 14 August. The film clashed with Ayan Mukerji’s ‘War 2’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, yet managed to stay strong at the box office. Over two weeks, it kept drawing crowds and raced towards the Rs 500 crore worldwide mark. But on its fifteenth day, the film saw its biggest dip yet.

Day 15 collection marks lowest earning so far

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, ‘Coolie’ collected only Rs 1.75 crore net in India across all languages on Day 15. This has brought its 15-day India total to Rs 270.85 crore. The figure marks the film’s lowest single-day collection so far.The film had started its journey with a massive Rs 65 crore opening, and within eight days it had already reached Rs 229.65 crore. But the momentum slowed down in the second week, with the fifteenth day proving to be the weakest.Occupancy rates on day 15On Thursday, 28 August 2025, ‘Coolie’ showed mixed occupancy across regions. Tamil stood at 12.69%, Telugu at 13.88%, while Hindi lagged behind with 7.90%.

His life takes a turn when his close friend Rajasekhar (played by Sathyaraj) dies under mysterious circumstances.Rajasekhar’s three daughters, including Preethi (Shruti Haasan), are left orphaned. While trying to uncover the truth behind his friend’s death, Deva comes face-to-face with dangerous cartel leader Simon (Nagarjuna) and Dayal (Soubin Shahir), a man hiding a secret of his own.
