Agency confirms Jin Ze’s passing
According to information released by his management company, Jin Ze (birth name: Zhang Jiawei) passed away on June 4 at his residence in Hangzhou, China. The agency has not publicly shared details regarding the cause of his death.The official statement released by the company read, “We announce with profound sorrow that our contracted actor Jin Ze (Zhang Jiawei) passed away at his home in Hangzhou on June 4, 2026.”
Request made for privacy
Following the announcement, reports suggested the agency also requested privacy for Jin Ze’s family as they deal with the difficult situation.As reported by Global Times, the management team urged people online to avoid spreading unverified claims and rumours surrounding the actor’s death. The appeal also requested that his family be given space as they continue arrangements and personal matters during this period. The statement read,”It is with immeasurable sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Jin Ze (birth name: Zhang Jiawei), an actor under our company, who sadly passed away at his residence in Hangzhou on June 4, 2026. Jin Ze originally named Zhang Jiawei, was born on January 30 (1993) in Weihai, Shandong Province. He was a promising young actor and fashion model. During the early stages of his career he actively worked in the fashion industry and devoted himself wholeheartedly to it. He participated in Milan Men’s Fashion Week and was nominated for the Professional Model of the Year Award. Later, he made a serious transition into the film and television industry, pursuing further studies in acting and steadily building a career through continuous performances.”The statement further read, “He always approached his work with humility and commitment, using his performances as a way of giving back to audiences. In recent years, he devoted significant effort to the mini-series industry and still had several quality projects awaiting release. At present, the family is fully occupied with funeral arrangements and related matters. To avoid unnecessary use of public media space, we sincerely appeal to everyone: we hope internet users and media outlets will act with kindness, respect the deceased, and show consideration toward the family.” They added, “We strongly ask everyone to reject the creation and spread of false information. We kindly urge everyone not to believe rumours, not to circulate rumours, and not to make assumptions or speculate about the cause of death.
