Cher’s son Chaz Bono marries Shara Blue Mathes at wedding

Chaz Bono's wedding: Cher’s son marries childhood sweetheart Shara Blue Mathes

In a romantic twist worthy of a fairytale, Chaz Bono, son of iconic singers Cher and Sonny Bono, has wed his childhood love, Shara Blue Mathes, in a dazzling ceremony filled with Hollywood glitz. After 40 years of life’s journey apart, the couple found their way back to each other and celebrated their love at The Hollywood Roosevelt.

Chaz Bono has married his longtime partner, Shara Blue Mathes, in a Hollywood wedding that brought a decades-old love story full circle. Bono, 57, the actor and only son of Cher and the late Sonny Bono, tied the knot with Mathes on March 8 at The Hollywood Roosevelt hotel in Los Angeles. The ceremony blended old Hollywood style with a deeply personal history, as Bono reflected on a relationship that began when both were still teenagers and has now led to marriage more than 40 years later.

According to People magazine, the wedding followed a Hollywood glam formal theme and drew close family and friends, including Cher, who watched from the front row. Spilling beans on their love story, Bono said, “I first met Shara more than 40 years ago when we were just teenagers.” He added, “I think it’s safe to say that not many grooms ultimately end up marrying the very first girl they ever kissed so many years later.”

The report from the above-mentioned outlet described a dramatic setting inside the hotel, with a black aisle lined by glowing red candles and dark floral arrangements. Cher watched as the couple ended the ceremony with a romantic dip. Bono wore a black-and-white tuxedo with a purple calla lily boutonnière. Mathes chose a long-sleeved lace gown.Bono also spoke openly about what marriage means to him now. “She makes me feel complete knowing she will always be there beside me as partner, my best friend, and the love of my life,” he told People. He continued, “No matter what life brings us, we will always be safer and stronger together. … And we are home.”The couple first met while attending the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute as teenagers. They later reconnected and restarted their relationship in January 2017.The happy family moment arrives during a difficult stretch elsewhere in Cher’s family. USA Today noted that Cher’s other son, Elijah Blue Allman, was arrested twice within three days over incidents in New Hampshire. He first faced charges tied to an alleged trespassing case at St. Paul’s School, then was arrested again on March 1 after an alleged break-in at a home in Windham.
