The concert is scheduled for September 20 and will be officially held at the famous Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.Any funds that will be generated from the concert will be donated to the Head and Neck Cancer Australia organisation in the veteran singer’s name. The organisation is close to Farnham, as they were the ones who assisted him when he started battling cancer after his diagnosis.

John Farnham talks about the tribute concert

In the same report, he shared how honoured he felt over the tribute concert, and how some of his closest friends, along with some legendary icons, will be performing on stage at the concert as well. He commented further that “I’ve been incredibly lucky to spend my life doing what I love, and even luckier to have Australians embrace my music the way they have. This (tribute concert) isn’t about me – it’s about giving something back and supporting a cause that means a great deal to me.”He further added that, “The fact that so many extraordinary artists from around the world have so generously agreed to be part of this night is incredibly humbling and says far more about the spirit behind this event than it does about me. I hope everyone has a great night.”He further explained that when the idea of the concert was pitched to him, he outright refused as it all seemed too much of a “fuss” to do. He repeatedly said no to the idea, until it was pitched that the funds collected from the concert can go to the organisation that has been helping him out.
