Wayfarer Films, led by Dulquer Salmaan, has found itself at the center of a storm after a woman accused Associate Director Dhinil Babu of casting couch practices.

Amid the success of ‘Lokah’, Dulquer Salmaan’s production house has stepped into controversy, as a woman has reportedly filed a complaint claiming she was subjected to a casting couch under the company’s name.As reported by Asianet News, the complaint specifically names Associate Director Dhinil Babu. Following the allegation, Dulquer Salmaan’s production house filed official reports with Thevara Police Station and FEFKA regarding the incident. The production house clarified that Dhinil Babu has no association with the company and has not worked on any of their project.

Alleged incident details

According to the complaint, Dhinil Babu allegedly called the woman under the pretext of offering a role in a Wayfarer Films production. She claims he asked her to meet him in a building near the company’s Panampilly Nagar office. Upon arrival, the woman alleges that Dhinil took her into a room and attempted to assault her, reportedly threatening that she would not receive further opportunities in the Malayalam film industry if she resisted. The woman also shared voice messages as part of her complaint to the police.The production house strongly emphasized that the harassment attempt was unauthorized and has no connection to the production house. They further stated that the complaint against Dhinil Babu was filed to prevent defamation of Wayfarer Films in the name of a casting couch.

Official response from the production house

According to the reports, the production house highlighted that all official casting calls are shared only through their verified social media channels. In a statement, the production house also warned aspiring actors not to fall for such fraudulent offers. Ernakulam South Police have registered a case in response to the complet. They also initiated a formal investigation into the matter. FEFKA has also been notified about the allegations.Wayfarer Films reassured the public that Dhinil Babu is not part of any Wayfarer Films project, and any claim of association with the production company is false.
