‘Border 2’ is perhaps one of the most anticipated Bollywood films of 2026 yet. Varun Dhawan’s first look in ‘Border 2’

Today, the official first look of Dhawan’s character Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, PVC, was dropped regaling fans and netizens alike. The actor takes on one of his most challenging roles yet in the upcoming war drama film, and accurately portrays the urgency of the story that will be explored in the movie.The poster shows the ‘Bhediya’ actor in a strong and hard-headed look as he carries a rifle through war-struck grounds, portraying the reality of an Indian soldier. He is dressed from head to toe in an army uniform, and has an intense look on his face, perfectly portraying what is being said to be a ‘never-before-seen’ portrayal of courage. Sunny Deol’s official character poster was unveiled only a few days ago and garnered a strong and enthusiastic reaction from the public. The film has been directed by none other than Anurag Singh, who has projects like ‘Kesari’, ‘Yaar Annmulle’, and ‘Dil Bole Hadippa!’ under his belt already.

About ‘Border’

The film is a spiritual sequel to the 1997 film titled ‘Border’, which at the time featured cast members Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry, and many others. The 1997 release followed the story of a small Indian army battalion in the region of Longewala. Their fight with the Pakistani strike force in the area is extensively covered in the original film. ‘Border 2’ will be available for fans to watch in their nearest theatres on January 23, perfectly lining up with Republic Day celebrations, which will take place only a few days later on January 26.
