‘Border 2’ scores Rs 30 crore box office debut

'Border 2' box office collections Day 1: Sunny Deol starrer earns Rs 30 crore; ranks among highest opening day collections

‘Border 2’ had a strong start to its box office journey. The war drama starring Sunny Deol in the lead, hit theatres in India on Friday and going by the early collections, the film has not only managed to score a good debut collection, but also got itself on the list of one of the highest opening day collections of all time.

‘Border 2’ Day 1 collections

The film hit theatres on Friday, January 23, just in time for the extended Republic Day weekend. As per early estimates on sacnilk, the war saga, which got a Rs 17 crore headstart in advance bookings, scored an impressive Rs 30 crore net collection on Day 1. With this, the film that was expected to earn in the Rs 20 crore range, overshot expectations to score a win at the ticket windows. As per early estimates, the gross total of the film has reportedly hit an estimated Rs 35 crore.

‘Border 2’ occupancy

‘Border 2’ had an overall 32.10% Hindi occupancy, with morning shows starting out slow with 19.46%. The film saw a gradual increase in footfalls over the day, with the night shows scoring the highest occupancy of 48.06%.

‘Border 2’ among highest earning Day 1 collections

Directed by Anurag Singh, the film has already landed itself among Bollywood’s highest first-day collections of all time. With its Rs 30 crore haul, the film sits comfortably on the 28th spot on the list of highest first-day collections. It could not, however, beat the impressive 2023 record of ‘Gadar 2’. Currently occupying the fifteenth spot, the film earned an estimated net collection of Rs 40.1 crore. The movie went on to become an all-time blockbuster, earning an all-India collection of Rs 525.7 crore and a worldwide total of Rs 686 crore.
