‘Border 2’ crosses Rs 6 crore in advance bookings

‘Border 2’, the upcoming patriotic film, starring Sunny Deol in the lead, is all set to take over the box office this weekend. The film, which is set to arrive in cinemas just in time for the extended Republic Day weekend, has recorded an impressive advance booking. The film, reportedly positioned as a sequel to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 blockbuster Border, which depicted the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India–Pakistan war, will release exclusively in Hindi.

‘Border 2’ advance box office collections

According to a report by Sacnilk, ‘Border 2’ has already grossed an estimated Rs 3.39 crore in Day 1 advance bookings from its 2D format. Early box office estimates on Wednesday indicate that the film has sold over 1.05 lakh tickets across 9,220 shows.Meanwhile, the report adds that the film’s total with blocked seats, has surged to an impressive Rs 6.63 crore. With all that is planned for the film’s wide release, these numbers are expected to rise in the days ahead.

‘Border 2’ state-wise collections

With only two more days till the film plays out on the big screen, reports state that the film is gearing up for one of the most aggressive theatrical releases in recent years. According to trade reports, distributors have implemented a screening strategy aimed at dominating cinema screens all across North India and targeted belts. during the opening weeks.As per box office reports, in a first, Delhi has taken the lead over Mumbai to score an estimated Rs 91.68 lakh in advance bookings with the total expected to rise to Rs 1.48 crore with blocked seats. Meanwhile, Maharashtra comes in second with a collection of Rs 45.38 lakh and Rs 1.05 crore with blocked seats. Uttar Pradesh clocks in third with a collection of Rs 36.75 lakh with the total collections expected to rise to Rs 69.22 lakh with blocked seats.

‘Border 2’ leaving no room for competition

As per a Bollywood Hungama report, single-screen theatres have been locked exclusively for ‘Border 2’ for a full two-week period, leaving no room for competing titles. Two-screen cinemas have also been instructed to allot all their daily shows to the film and the same holds for multi-screens and multiplxes.

‘Border 2’ to enjoy extended weekend

Scheduled for release on Friday, January 23, ‘Border 2’ is expected to benefit from the extended holiday window, with the national holiday on Monday, which is expected to see a big boost in the film’s box office numbers. Go to Source
