As reported by India Today, the couple had planned a short holiday in Phuket from 2 to 5 October, with confirmed bookings for travel and stay. But with the court’s refusal, their plans have come to a halt.Advocates Niranjan Mundargi and Keral Mehta, representing Shetty and Kundra, argued that the pair had travelled abroad several times in the past despite an earlier case filed in 2021. They stressed that both had always returned to India and cooperated with investigators. The lawyers insisted that the same opportunity should be given now.

Judges were not convinced

The bench of Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam A Ankhad was not convinced. The judges directed Public Prosecutor Mankunwar Deshmukh, who appeared for the state, to file a reply.

Why are Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra facing legal heat?

Shetty and Kundra are facing legal heat connected to a Rs 60 crore cheating case involving their now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Pvt. Ltd. The case was filed by Deepak Kothari, Director of UY Industries Pvt. Ltd., who alleged that he was misled into investing in the firm between 2015 and 2023. According to his complaint, he provided Rs 60.48 crore as a loan under an investment agreement. He also claimed that Shetty had given a personal guarantee for the deal.Earlier, an NDTV report claimed that Rs 15 crore of the alleged Rs 60 crore fraud was transferred to a company owned by Shilpa , and that the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) was investigating the money. However, later her lawyer, Prashant Patil, strongly denied these claims. According to IANS, he said that the news is false and compelled the actress to take legal action to protect her image and reputation.Disclaimer: The following news report is based on information from official sources and media reports at the time of publication.
