The film’s India gross collection has reached Rs 31.82 crore so far. ‘Blast’ has grossed Rs 7.30 crore from international markets. The total worldwide gross collection has climbed to Rs 39.12 crore.

Opening week played a major role

The film benefited strongly from its opening week numbers and this was mainly due to it’s impressive WOM.Day 6 generated Rs 3.45 crore across 2,746 shows with an occupancy of 29.1 percent. Day 7 later added Rs 2.75 crore from 2,544 shows while occupancy stood at 26.1 percent. Day 8 collected Rs 2.03 crore across 2,255 shows and recorded 23.8 percent occupancy. The film completed its first week with a total collection of Rs 25.78 crore. Day 9 then added another Rs 1.91 crore to the total tally. The occupancy trend on Day 9 showed stronger audience movement during late-night screenings. ‘Blast’ recorded an overall occupancy of 23.01 percent for its Tamil version.Morning occupancy stood at 15.15 percent while afternoon occupancy climbed to 19.38 percent. Evening shows later registered 17.62 percent occupancy. Night shows recorded the highest occupancy of the day at 35.85 percent.’Blast’ follows Rajaram who is a karate practitioner who lives with his wife Neelaveni and daughter Nila. Both his wife and daughter are also skilled in karate. Their peaceful middle-class life changes completely with the involvement of a corporate gang.ETimes awarded the film 4 stars out of 5 and wrote, “The best of Blast, though, lies in the little details. For instance, the biggest action twist in the film does not come from Arjun or Preity. And I know who you are thinking, it isn’t from Abhirami either.”The review further added, “Instead, the film hands its biggest action pivot to a fourth person altogether, which makes the setup interesting. From a stunning introduction fight sequence for Preity, the film has an action block every five to ten minutes. Yet, it gets redundant only in very few instances, thanks to predictable yet exciting twists.”DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and the data in this article are compiled from public and industry sources.
