Big B would scold Abhishek if he didn’t finish food

'Amitabh Bachchan would scold Abhishek Bachchan if he didn't finish food on his plate,' reveals chef Harpal Singh Sokhi

Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi who is a television personality and has been in the restaurant business for many years has opened up on his experiences with some B-town stars. Sokhi has worked for a popular hotel which was a hub for Bollywood celebs many years ago. One would often see many celebs visiting this hotel. Chef recalled how Dharmendra’s son got married there, and in those days, even award functions would take place at this hotel. During this chat, he revealed how Amitabh Bachchan taught his children to never waste food. This was the Centaur Hotel in Juhu where he worked as a chef. This hotel is now closed. He said during a chat with Siddharth Kannan, “Sabse bada (adda tha). We have seen Dharmendra’s son’s wedding, we have seen awards, we have seen Madhuri Dixit’s rise. She would come to the Chinese restaurant. We have seen all this. Full Bollywood used to be there.”Recalling this moment with Bachchan and his family, chef said, “Let me tell you something nice. We had an Indian restaurant, and Amitabh Bachchan used to come there. He would come with Jaya Bachchan ji, Abhishek Bachchan, and his daughter, Shweta. I still remember, when Amitabh ji would eat, and if there was any food left on his son’s plate, he would scold him: ‘Abhishek! Finish what is there in your plate. The plate should be empty’. He would say, ‘No, I’m full’. His father would say, ‘Why did you take it?’ I remember this very clearly.”The chef did not reveal the exact time and Abhishek’s age when this incident happened, or whether he was a child or a teenager. But it goes to say how Bachchan was always disciplined and him along with Jaya Bachchan emphasised on such values. Jaya Bachchan had once revealed that though Abhishek and Shweta were always scared of their father, Big B has never raised his hand on the kids. Later, Abhishek had gone to boarding school to study.
