Former 'Tonight Show' bassist John B. Williams moves to hospice care following brain surgery after fall and dementia progression

John B. Williams, a famed bassist who used to work on the ‘Tonight Show,’ has been admitted into hospice care. According to the latest updates, the musician was admitted into the facility after facing complications due to dementia.

John B. Williams, best known for featuring on the ‘The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson,’ has been admitted into hospice care, according to reports shared by TMZ. His wife, Jessica Williams, released a statement citing that her husband had recently suffered a fall, which resulted in grave injuries.He had been recovering after receiving brain surgery following his fall. She also revealed that Williams has been suffering from dementia, and the fall caused the disease to progress further. As per the report, it has been revealed that Williams is no longer able to walk on his own, and he cannot speak right now. After being admitted into hospice care, the musician now has around the clock nurses to look after his well-being following a sudden decline in his health.

John B. Williams was best known for working on the ‘Tonight Show’ for seven years, and beyond that, he was also a part of the legendary band, The Posse. They featured on the popular ‘The Arsenio Hall Show’. He has also worked with some of the biggest music icons in the industry, including Count Basie and Louis Armstrong to name a few.Williams began his music journey when he established his own band, Expectations, in 1975. He later joined the Nancy Wilson trio, spending the next 25 years working with the group.The 85 year old stepped away from creating music a few years ago.
