Ba***ds Of Bollywood: Sahher REACTS to roundtable scene

'The Ba***ds Of Bollywood': Did Ananya Panday-Siddhant Chaturvedi’s nepotism debate inspire the roundtable scene? Sahher Bambba REACTS

‘The Ba***ds Of Bollywood’ have grabbed viewers’ attention with nostalgic references, surprising cameos, clever meta jokes, and a playful take on Bollywood clichés. Many netizens assumed that Karishma Talwar’s character was inspired by Ananya Panday. However, Sahher Bambba has set the record straight, stating that these are purely fictional parts.

Is the roundtable scene inspired by Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi?

One particular roundtable sequence, which shows Aasmaan Singh, an outsider, and Karishma, a star kid whose father is a Bollywood superstar, having a heated exchange on the privileges and flipside of nepotism. This scene made many wonder if Aryan Khan, the director, satirised the 2019 discussion between Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi that went viral. In the 2019 roundtable interview with Rajeev Masand, Ananya’s struggles as a star kid were met with Siddhant responding, “Jahaan humaare sapne poore hote hain, wahaan inke struggle shuru hote hai.”

Sahher Bambba reflects on possible scene inspiration

Speaking to News18 Showsha, Sahher shared “I didn’t revisit the original roundtable video. Aryan never really gave me a reference point. When I read the scene, my first instinct took me there and I wondered if it’s inspired by that roundtable. In our show, the character dynamics, the story and the banter are very different. Having said that, I need to speak to Aryan on whether it was inspired from that video.”

Sahher Bambba shares learning from the struggles of a star kid

Sahher added that working on ‘The Ba***ds Of Bollywood’ helped her understand the struggles of star kids, “When I had started, I thought their lives are very easy. But after playing Karishma Talwar, I know that they also have their own struggles even though they’re different from ours. That was my biggest learning.”
