'Asrani never threw star tantrums or asked for separate van, room,' says his manager; talks about late actor's simplicity

Veteran actor Asrani, known for his iconic comedic roles, passed away on October 20, 2025. His manager revealed the legendary performer’s profound simplicity, noting he never demanded special treatment like separate vans or rooms on set. Asrani was content with provided facilities and shared meals, embodying a humble spirit throughout his illustrious career.

Legendary Hindi cinema actor Asrani passed away on October 20, 2025. His demise left a void in Bollywood that can never be filled. From “Angrezo ke zamane ke Jailer” in ‘Sholay’ to his comedic roles in Priyadarshan’s movies, the actor made generations laugh with his comic timing. Amidst this, his manager Babu Bhai recently talked of the late actor’s simplicity. He also shed light on how the veteran actor never demanded any separate van or room for himself while shooting.

Asrani’s manager reveals the late actor never asked for a separate van or room on set

In an interview with ANI, Asrani’s manager, Babu Bhai, shared, “He never asked for a separate van, never asked for a separate room. Whatever the producers provided, within his capacity, whatever facilities were offered, he was happy with that.”The manager revealed that he used to tell the late actor that he has a star status and has been featured in over 300 movies, “We should charge more for a project, but he would always interrupt and say no.”The manager recalled that the actor would always say that he had to comply with the budget of the producer and be content with whatever facilities were provided.Babu Bhai added, “In fact, he never ordered food from outside; whatever the production provided to others, he would have the same, and he was happy with that. He never threw any star tantrums or said anything that would hurt a producer.”In the same interview, the manager revealed that the actor had told his wife and him to not announce his demise. Babu Bhai shared that the actor wished to go just like any other ordinary person. He stated that was the reason no one from the family told anyone about his passing until his last rites were performed.

Asrani’s death

Babu Bhai stated that Asrani was not doing well for the last 15 days before his demise. In the last four days, he faced breathing issues, and hence, the actor was rushed to the hospital in Juhu, where he took his last breath.His last movies are the Priyadarshan-directed and Akshay Kumar-led ‘Bhoot Bangla’ and ‘Haiwaan’. The films will be released next year.
