Arjun turns off Instagram comments as old meme goes viral

Arjun Kapoor turns off Instagram comments after his old stare meme goes viral

Arjun Kapoor’s 2017 playful stare at a press event resurfaced, transforming into a viral meme sensation by 2025. The trend, fueled by a music remix, led Arjun to disable Instagram comments. He was last seen in ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ and will appear in ‘No Entry 2’ with Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh.

Arjun Kapoor has found himself at the center of meme culture, as a forgotten moment from 2017 has suddenly taken over the internet. What started as a playful stare at a press event has now turned into a viral sensation, forcing the actor to shut down comments on his Instagram.

The origin of the stare

The viral clip comes from a May 2017 press event in Mumbai, where Arjun and Shraddha Kapoor were promoting Half Girlfriend. After a reporter made a casual remark following praise for Bihar’s locals, Arjun gave a mock-serious stare that instantly caught attention. When the reporter admitted feeling a little scared, Arjun laughed and said, “I didn’t even say anything.”

Meme takeover and music remix

To cope with the flood of memes, Arjun disabled comments on all his Instagram posts. By 2025, meme creators had synced the clip with Dus Don’s dramatic beats, turning it into a go-to template for expressing annoyance or suspicion. The trend exploded online, helping the track cross 94 million views on YouTube and 15 million streams on Spotify, driven mostly by Instagram Reels.

What’s next for Arjun Kapoor

The actor was last seen in Mere Husband Ki Biwi alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh. Up next, he will share the screen with Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh in No Entry 2. Directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Boney Kapoor, the film is slated to go on floors later this year, though the female leads are yet to be officially revealed.
