‘Don 3’: Arjun Das joins as antagonist opposite Ranveer Singh; filming to begin in January - Reports

Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’ stars Ranveer Singh as the third Don, with Kriti Sanon as the female lead. Arjun Das is in talks to play the antagonist, marking his Hindi debut. International stunt teams are involved, aiming for Bond-like action. Filming begins in January, with realistic location shoots planned.

Farhan Akhtar is set to direct ‘Don 3’, featuring Ranveer Singh as the third generation ‘Don’, following Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. The Don franchise is being rebooted with fresh elements by Farhan. Kriti Sanon has been cast as the female lead alongside Ranveer. Arjun Das is reportedly in advanced talks with Excel Entertainment and Farhan to play the antagonist in ‘Don 3’.Arjun Das in talks for hindi debutAccording to Pinkvilla, after playing characters with grey shades in films like ‘Master’, ‘Kaithi’, ‘Vikram’, ‘Good Bad Ugly’, and the soon-to-be-released ‘OG’, Arjun Das is in talks to make his Hindi debut. Farhan and the team are in talks with Arjun to come on board for ‘Don 3’ as the main antagonist. Arjun has shown his interest too, as the character has multiple arcs and a lot more than just a run-of-the-mill antagonist. The cat-and-mouse game between Ranveer and Arjun will be among the major USP’s of the film. Ranveer will be undergoing workshops to get the mannerisms of Don right. He will be bringing in his own elements to the character, and is excited to embark on an action-packed journey with Farhan in January.Top stunt teams to elevate action sequencesIt is rumored that internationally acclaimed stunt teams have joined ‘Don 3’, aiming to build the kind of suspense seen in Bond films through its action scenes. Reportedly, the idea is to bring in a new world of action with ‘Don 3’. Excel Entertainment is also looking to shoot most of the film at real locations, including the big action sequences, to bring in an element of realism to what is reflected on the screen. The paperwork with Arjun will be completed in a fortnight, leading to an official announcement.
