Archana’s son shares details of credit card scam and how he got Rs 84,000 back

Archana Puran Singh recalls losing Rs 30,000 in online scam as her son Ayushmaan shares details of his credit card scam of Rs 84,000 and how he got the money back

Archana Puran Singh’s younger son, Ayushmaan Sethi, recently revealed that he had fallen victim to an online scam involving Rs 84,000. Earlier he had revealed that on their vlog and also said that he got his money back. However, now, he has spoken about the incident at length and how it happened in his brother Aaryamann Sethi’s latest YouTube vlog, which also led Archana to share her own experience of being duped online during a family trip to Dubai.Speaking about the fraud, Ayushmaan said, “I got scammed, and that became big news because the Cyber Crime branch wants to do an awareness campaign in which one of the interviews will be of me. I got scammed last year.”Aaryamann, however, interrupted him and argued that he technically “didn’t get scammed” since the money was refunded. Ayushmaan then clarified that the refund had come from his credit card company and not from the scammers, who were never caught. Explaining what happened, Aaryamann said, “They took Rs 84K from his credit card on PlayStation Network. The PlayStation Network was hacked.” Ayushmaan added, “I reported the fraud with the credit card company and they returned the money to me. ”During the same conversation, Archana recalled how she too lost Rs 30,000 in an online scam while travelling in Dubai last year. The family had booked tickets for an indoor skydiving experience online, only to discover upon reaching the venue that no reservation existed in their name. They later realised they had unknowingly booked through a fake website. Recalling the incident in an earlier vlog, Archana had said, “We have been scammed because the website wasn’t real. Did we just get scammed in Dubai?” Reacting to the situation, her husband Parmeet Sethi sarcastically remarked, “Enjoy, whoever has conned us.”
