AR Ameen on stepping out of AR Rahman’s shadow, learning from dad, and singing in Hindi: ‘I want to come up with my own path’

AR Rahman’s son AR Ameen has stepped into the spotlight with his debut track Bheegi Bheegi, a romantic collaboration with Jasleen Royal featuring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur. In a recent interview, Ameen spoke about the pressure of being the legendary composer’s son, learning music directly from his father, and the challenges he faced recording his first Hindi track.Opened up about his musical journey and sharing how learning directly from his legendary father shaped his skills, Ameen told Bollywood Bubble, “My dad uses the harmonium a lot. Carving his own identity while carrying a legacy

Speaking about the pressure of being AR Rahman’s son, Ameen said, “I’m starting with my own plant, and I have a long way to go. I have a lot of hard work to do. My dad has worked with so many composers, he’s done so many jingles and live shows. He has done a lot of work to be where he is right now, and obviously, God’s blessings. So I have a lot of work to do, and I want to come up with my own path, and I don’t want to compare or anything.” With Bheegi Bheegi, AR Ameen is not only debuting as a playback singer but also charting his own musical path under his label, Rooh Records.
