‘Anomie’ release: Bhavana film postponed

'Anomie' release postponed: Bhavana and Rahman's sci-fi thriller to arrive on February

Bhavana’s much-anticipated sci-fi thriller ‘Anomie’ has shifted its release date to February 6, 2026. While the makers haven’t specified a reason, industry speculation points to a crowded release window. The film, starring Bhavana and Rahman, is written and directed by Riyas Marath. Bhavana recently opened up about her deliberate break from Malayalam cinema, emphasizing it was her personal choice.

Bhavana’s most awaited ‘Anomie’ has changed its release date again. The film was earlier planned to release on January 30 this year. But just a few days before that date the makers decided to push it by one week.Latest updates say that ‘Anomie’ will release in theatres on February 6, 2026. The update came on January 20. The makers did not give any clear reason for the delay. But many big films are planning to release around the same time and that could be one reason.

Official message from the makers

The makers shared the new release date on social media. Their message said, “Built for the big screen. Arriving February 6 (2026). Welcome to the world of Anomie. Anomie – The equation of death. Starring Bhavna and Rahman. Written and directed by Riyas Marath.”

What to expect

‘Anomie’ stars Bhavana and Rahman in lead roles. It is written and directed by Riyas Marath. The film is a sci-fi thriller. ‘Anomie’ also has a strong technical team. Harshavardhan Rameshwar is composing the music for the film. Sujith Sarang is handling the cinematography.

Bhavana talks about her break from Malayalam cinema

Recently Bhavana spoke about why she stayed away from Malayalam films for some time. She said it was a sudden decision. No one forced her. It was fully her choice and at that time she felt fine with it. Bhavana said in an interview with Galatta Plus, “Suddenly I felt the need to take a break from Malayalam cinema. At least for some time I thought that if I wasn’t acting in Malayalam I didn’t need to be aware of what was happening there.” She explained that the break helped her feel calm. “That break was completely my own decision.”Even during that time many people called her for films. But she said no to everyone. Bhavana shared, “Even then, my friends from the Malayalam film industry would call me and ask me to do films. Aashiq Abu, Prithviraj, Jayasurya— I even said no to a Mammootty film.”She added, “If you ask me why I said no then honestly I don’t have an answer.” She also said, “At that time, I was okay with that decision.”’Anomie’ is now coming soon and fans are happy to see Bhavana back in Malayalam cinema again.
