Anita: Rajesh Khanna’s family left him yet took his wealth

Anita Advani says Rajesh Khanna’s family abandoned him yet inherited his entire property while she got nothing: 'You can't escape Karma'

Anita Advani, who recently revealed that she was secretly married to India’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna and lived together for nearly 12 years, has revealed new details about his final years, his family’s absence, and the property battle that continues to this day. “Everyone had left him”When asked why his family did not support him despite having such a “beautiful family” — two actress daughters, Twinkle and Rinke, son-in-law Akshay Kumar, and wife Dimple Kapadia — Anita said on REEL Meet REAL, “She (Dimple) had left him in 1982, and for 30 years, she had no connection with him. He had already lost everything by then; everyone had left him. He was stuck in between. He wasn’t even getting a divorce, so he remained trapped. No divorce, no resolution.”Family inherited property, not her

Despite years of togetherness, Anita said she was left with nothing.“The discussion did take place but in the end, when he was not even conscious, everything was done in such a way that it went completely out of control — beyond anyone’s reach, including his own. Yet, the family got his entire property. That in itself is a big story.”She added that she has been locked in legal battles ever since, with the case still ongoing in the High Court. “Recently, I even received a statement from the Supreme Court. They said the earlier order against me held no weight, that its observations did not matter. So now, the case continues.”

“No one takes anything with them”Reflecting on greed and betrayal, Anita said, “No one takes anything with them when they go. So why cheat like this? No one can eat or carry so much money after death. Then why such greed? Every relationship deserves respect. In my heart, I know — everyone should get what they rightfully deserve. Karma comes around on its own. No matter how smart you think you are, you can’t escape karma.”Bond with Anju MahendruThe conversation also touched upon Rajesh Khanna’s past relationships, particularly with actress Anju Mahendru, who was in his life before his marriage to Dimple. Clarifying her equation with Anju, Anita said, “Anju is a very good friend of mine. I often visit her; we’ve known each other for years now. She never asked for anything. She told me herself she didn’t want anything. She is a wonderful human being, like a sister to me.”On whether injustice was done to Anju too, Anita responded, “She herself said she didn’t want to marry him. The truth is, he was a very difficult man. A difficult person, no doubt about it. Ask any woman who was in his life, and she will say the same. That’s why Anju ultimately decided not to marry him.”
